Germany’s Federal Ministry of Health published a policy brief  “Physical Activity Promotion for Children and Adolescents in Germany”

Sports scientists from the WHO Collaborating Center for Physical Activity and Public Health at the Department of Sport Science and Sport (DSS) were tasked by the German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) to develop a policy brief of “Physical Activity Promotion for Children and Adolescents in Germany”.

The policy brief contains a comprehensive catalog of recommendations for policymakers, educational institutions and other stakeholders in the physical activity sector, building on various initiatives at national and European level as well as the WHO’s Global Action Plan for Physical Activity.

The policy brief “Promoting physical activity among children and adolescents in Germany” is available online in PDF format: A short version of the inventory presents key content and conclusions for an initial overview of the topic, while the long version also contains a detailed description of the methodology and all results.
