19th Meeting of the EU Physical Activity Focal Points Network

The 19th Meeting of the EU Physical Activity Focal Points Network took place in Brussels on 22-23 February. The aim of this collaborative effort was to foster knowledge exchange and strategic discussions to bolster physical activity promotion and policy monitoring throughout the region.

At the meeting, representatives from the Special Initiative on Noncommunicable Diseases and Innovation of the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission discussed priorities for promoting physical activity and monitoring policies. Member State representatives shared their efforts to support the recovery of physical activity and sports participation following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team from our WHO Collaborating Centre for Physical Activity and Public Health presented potential strategies and led a discussion on the future of physical activity policy monitoring in Europe.

The meeting served as a platform for productive knowledge exchange and strategic deliberations aimed at advancing physical activity promotion and policy monitoring efforts throughout Europe.
