Participation in the First Global Forum of WHO Collaborating Centres in Lyon
The Co-Directors of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Physical Activity and Public Health at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Karim Abu-Omar and Wolfgang Geidl, participated in the first Global Forum of WHO Collaborating Centres, held from 7 to 9 April 2026 in Lyon, France. The event brought together representatives from more than 800 institutions across over 80 countries to strengthen international scientific collaboration in public health.
The forum provided a valuable platform for exchange with leading experts from around the world and highlighted the central role of physical activity in global health promotion and prevention. Participation in the forum further strengthens the international network of the Erlangen WHO Collaborating Centre and contributes to advancing evidence-based strategies for promoting physical activity.
